Good breakfast spot. It's all good, but especially the bacon. Get there early or you might have to stand in line to get in.

It's a big tourist destination but that doesn't mean it's not good. If you want some classic old school American dining come here. Especially for breakfast.

I recommend this place 100%!! They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, and when we came for lunch, we ate calamari, white pasta with bay shrimp, crab cake, and bread! It was so good, even if you are full, you can’t stop...! I recommend this place! The customer service is really good, too!

I always enjoy visiting Sears when in SF! I've only been here for breakfast because they do such a great job. The pancakes are the best! Yes, it's a tourist stop, but it is good food and good service at a decent price. This place has never disappointed me.

This restaurant has stood the test of time period opened since 1938, it has managed to keep customers happy and coming back. The Swedish pancakes with lingon Berry sauce were divine. I'd also eat the bay shrimp omelet with Sherry cream sauce again in a hot New York minute. Loved it.

Oatmeal and French Toast were great. Mocha was missing the whipped cream yet it was good. Not very expensive.

Unassuming from the outside, mighty fine food inside. This establishment was across the road from our hotel, so we popped in for a Sunday evening meal, we were told we would have a ten minute wait, which was acceptable. Following us the queue for people wanting a table extended out the door !The food we ordered was delivered hot and in plentiful supply, with our choice from a large menu choice .If I am back in the area, this would certainly be on my food stop off points.

Nice place, great history all over the walls. Service and staff were friendly. The food was just okay. We ordered the butter and bread and the bread was stale. Also ordered the 18 pancakes which were pretty bland and the fruit on the plate was nasty. Dry and brown.

Great little casual place in the mix of all the high end restaurants. Amazing fresh crab and delicous lobster ravioli. Extremely reasonable price for the portions and great service as well.

The place has the best pancakes in the Union Square area and is my go to for them when i visit. An establishment that has an old School vibe with classic dishes. Service is always great and even though it gets busy, I have always been seated immediately. If you come solo, sit at the diner as you will get the same great food without taking a table for other guests.

Our service was so wonderful. We came in on a very wet and windy night, they were so kind to us! The food was incredible, it was a calm and cozy atmosphere, and my husband and I could not be more pleased with our experience.

World renowned Swedish pancakes (18!) with warm maple syrup and bacon. Side of hasbrowns. Mocha. Breakfast of champions. Great atmosphere. Attentive server. Fast (for a sit down restaurant) and delicious.

I had the soup of the day, which is broccoli and cheese. I also ordered a glass of wine from their happy hour menu (which is active daily, even on weekends). The soup and wine is very good. I had to order bread, which was fine because it was only $2. But it seemed odd that ordering the soup did not make the bread come standard. Typical SF these days I suppose.

We got there at 8 am on a Sunday morning and were seated immediately. Five minutes later I stepped out to take a call and the line was out the door, and arguments were breaking out! Restaurant is clearly popular with the locals. It's a small place, and they've packed tables close together to accommodate the masses. So be prepared to rub elbows with strangers. But the experience was good. Somebody took our order promptly. Breakfast was excellent, and coffee was good.

Very nice and comfortable place for dinning. Went there with my friends late at night when other places were already closed and it was the best choice. We had a great chowder, perfect for the cold nights of April.

This place was GREAT! The Fish and Chips was delicious and not soggy and full of grease. My friend's Reuben sandwich was full of flavor and the most perfect reuben ever encountered. Phenomenal customer service. I will most definitely come back for more fine food!

Excellent French toast. I mean EXCELLENT! And I’m generally a waffle fan! The toast itself is lightly sweet (just right - I don’t do too sweet though). Ordered extra side of extra crispy bacon..really good. My friend ordered smoke salmon Benedict with extra side of chicken apple sausage. He said it was just a touch cold when coming out but really good. I tried a bite and thought it was really good (again usually I’m not a big fan of hollandaise) but this was wow!. The sausage was really good too. All in all worth 5 stars! Soo good!

Service was very friendly. Food was good and prices was reasonable. The inside was also unexpected. Very different from what it looks like outside. My husband and I have been to Lori's a few times located down the street . Each time has been a big disappointment.

Classic dining experience you should not miss. Decked out in 1930s & 1940s memorabilia, Sears serves American style comfort food with a San Francisco touch. Becsyre to get the signature breakfast dish - 18 small swedish-style pancakes with ligonberries. Always busy but worth the wait.

It can be very difficult to make a decision on where to go eat when visiting San Francisco. There are plenty of options available. I truly struggle to find a place, as like many other each choice can be a hit or miss. Walking around union square I decided to stop here and I was happy to had done it. The service was amazing, waiter was quick and attentive. Food did not take long to be serve and it was great. I was happy with the overall experience. One thing I should mention, the bathroom is a bit small for the traffic of the place. Then I visited one of the two toilets was broken adding to the wait. The floor a bit sticky but man, I was truly happy I had the opportunity to visit this place.

Just a breakfast joint complete with old world ambiance, fast service, and food that gets the job done. In San Francisco for a conference and Sears was recommended to me by an associate. I was a little weary at first because it looked and sounded like a tourist trap. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised to the contrary. I like to order the basics when visiting a breakfast place for the first time. After all, if you can't do eggs and bacon well should I really try your vegan lobster egg benedict lettuce wrap? The food was on point. The over easy egg fry was just that. The hash was crispy on the outside and silky on the inside without a hint of grease. We also ordered the French toast. Also delicious with the fresh strawberry compote. Initially the portions felt a tad on the small size but then I remembered not everyone in the world likes a heaping side of gluttony with their breakfast. Cheers to you Sears.

Great breakfast spot. There's a line on Sundays, but worth the wait. My wife had the French toast and I had the pancakes with an egg over easy. Service was fast and efficient, and the food is excellent. Homey atmosphere. Our new breakfast spot when we stay in San Francisco.

Eight of us had a bit of a reunion at this restaurant. Service was great. We asked for separate bills which was not a problem. The server was helpful with the wine choice as well as with the dinner choice. Several people liked the seafood pasta but I had the grilled ling cod with lemon butter sauce. Great choice. It was tasty and perfectly cooked. coffee at the end of the meal was cold, but was promptly replaced with a fresh pot. Overall good night.

Breakfast was excellent, tried dinner next day, but was disappointed with the lobster risotto. Floury tasting bland pasta with a flavorless mush inside. The other food looked good though.

The administration was great, yet that is it. The environment does not have any appeal that you would anticipate from such an old spot. What's more, for lunch, I've would be wise to nourishment in air terminals. This spot must make due on travelers because of its nearness to Association Square.

As is typical for upscale or fine dining, Sears's pricing is on par with comparable quality restaurants. What definitely sets them apart from the crowd is their house-made desserts! Get in early if you want some of their Créme Brulée--and you do! Their Chocolate Mousse cake is fantastic, too. With dressy or casual attire, you'll fit right in with their friendly and helpful staff.

The seafood tasted a bit frozen. Apart for the obvious tuna sashimi being frozen my calamari tasted and looked like it was frozen. I thought the only redeeming feature was the drink and soup we ordered.

You won't run out of food choices, open for 3 meals a day, eat some comfort food or something a bit more fancy, they have it all. Good vintage atmosphere. I come here every time I come into San Francisco.

I was disappointed. The photos looked so good! My omlette was good but not amazing. The hash browns were a little burnt and had a funny flavor to them. The service felt rushed. The atmosphere was historic and comfortable and we didn't have to wait for a table so that was nice.My husband had the French toast and said the maple syrup was so good it was "drinkable" and when mixed with the strawberry preserve, it was incredible. I just ordered the wrong thing I think!

A tradition of fine breakfast for as long as I can remember! Been going here for 40 years and the food and service get better with age! Now I'm introducing the restaurant to the next generation of the family! The Swedish pancakes, or as I like to call them, the silver dollar pancakes, are definitely a must try. I like getting a side of ham steak to cut the sweetness a bit and add a bit of protein. It's really tasty, too. Enjoy!

Lovely quaint restaurant. Nice selection of quality meals served by friendly staff. Stories evolve from the walls and furniture as you get a glimpse of history during san Francisco's past.
